National African Student Association had a student leadership conference in DC in April where we discussed about how the African diaspora youth can activate their voice to impact positive development of African Nations.
Thanks to subject matter experts like Thomas Pogge, Jim Henry, and Raymond W. Baker, our knowledge grew exponentially in those spaces!
These discussions and interactions compelled a group of students and myself to take action by responding to multiple calls to action writing prompts from the United Nations Human Rights where we wrote and submitted papers offering suggestions on how to provide reparatory justice to people of African descent as well as empower them economically!

I’m proud to say that our papers have been selected and published by the United Nations Human Rights where our suggestions will be acknowledged during their general sessions!!
That DC leadership conference served as a major catalyst in the creation of the paper, motivating students to begin taking action and become a stronger voice for their continent.
Who knows what other amazing things will happen as a result of attending the national conference we’re having in August 2023 at New York University!
