FUNDRAISER: HELP END PERIOD POVERTY

Background

So’intim is a Malian social enterprise that manufactures and sells washable and reusable menstrual products. These products are reusable for at least 3 years and 10% of their profits go to providing kits to women and girls living without access to and ability to afford them.

NAfSA has entered into partnership with So’Intim to join the fight against period poverty on the continent. In recognition of So’Intim’s first anniversary, both organizations are working towards completing various donations and activities. These events will take place in Nianfala, a village in the Koulikoro Region of Mali, West Africa.

Objective

The objective of this activity is to provide menstrual kits to 80 girls aged 12-15 in the village of Nianfala in order to:

  • Improve their access to menstrual hygiene products
  • Reduce the risk of infections
  • Keep girls in school during their menstruation

The Kits are composed of: two menstrual panties, a soap, a small towel, and a small pocket.

Your Donation Matters!

Join us in making a lasting impact in the lives of young women and girls living in period poverty. For this event, our goal is to raise $1000 to cover a portion of the cost of these menstrual kits and to provide a meal for the 80 girls during the event. Access to adequate menstrual products can positively impact the physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of girls and could contribute to helping these girls remain in school. We look forward to your kind support as we work towards making a difference in the lives of these young girls.
