About the National Conference in New York, NY

From August 31st to September 3rd, 2023, the National African Student Association, Inc (NAfSA) will be hosting about 400 members at New York University, NY for our National Conference. This is in collaboration with Africa Mbele and NYU departments.

The conference will include Panel discussions, workshops, career opportunities and more with influential policy makers and leaders from governmental, nonprofit and business organizations invited. The theme of this conference is “Amplifying Impact Through Unity.” We shall be continuing our discussions from our Leadership Conference in Washington DC held in April. The discussions focused on how the African diaspora youth can activate their voice to impact positive development of African Nations, with specific focus on ending corruption that affects all facets of our economy, our culture and our society.

The National African Student Association and Africa Mbele are partnering to hold this conference to empower students and other youth by creating opportunities and equipping them with the tools necessary for them to become forces of change. We will continue to emphasize that regardless of their location or age, as a united force they have the power to make an impact they want to see. The conference participants will gain from the workshops, breakout sessions, career opportunities, and networking activities we have planned for that weekend. In addition to this conference, the NAfSA and Africa Mbele will continue utilizing various programs throughout the year to continue driving towards making an impact.
