So’intim is a Malian social enterprise that manufactures and sells washable and reusable menstrual products. These products are reusable for at least 3 years and 10% of their profits go to providing kits to women and girls living without access to and ability to afford them.
NAfSA has entered into partnership with So’Intim to join the fight against period poverty on the continent. To this end, we are launching The Period Power Project, beginning in Mali.
In Mali, thousands of women and girls face the challenge of managing their menstrual cycles without access to adequate hygiene products. This lack of resources leads to health issues, stigma, and missed opportunities—especially for girls in school.
Menstruation should never be a barrier to education, health, or dignity.
This life-changing project will provide sustainable menstrual hygiene products to women and girls in two communities in Mali: Segou and Club Kanuya. By supporting this initiative, you can help break the cycle of period poverty and empower women and girls to thrive.
The objective of this activity is to provide menstrual kits to 500 girls in Mali. We aim to:
The Kits are composed of: a pair of reusable menstrual underwear, two reusable menstrual pads, soap, a small towel, a small purse.
Join us in making a lasting impact in the lives of young women and girls living in period poverty. For this event, our goal is to raise $16,000.
Your contribution will directly fund:
With your help, we can restore dignity, improve health, and open doors to education and opportunity for women and girls in Mali. Join us in building a future where menstruation is not a barrier but a stepping stone to empowerment.
